...just started in the public chatroom at fanarchive.campfirenow.com/eb4b6, in case anyone wants to pop in and ask something. Questions can also be asked on elections blog posts on lj/dw/the main site, people have been doing that and getting answers.

In reading the unofficial transcript here: fail-fandomanon.livejournal.com/41954.html?thread=191340002t191340002I saw this oddly specific comment: "3:30 PM hele .... nor would it be, in my opinion, good to, say, move all argentinian fanzines to a college in USA, if that were even possible.....(it strikes me as a sort of cultural theft, though I guess them being preserved _somewhere_ is still good.)" Anyone have any background on the Argentinian fanzine underground.

Anyone have any background on the Argentinian fanzine underground. It was totally random -- I'm Argentinian (I've no info on fanzine underground or otherwise), so it was the non-USA nationality that sprung to mind when speaking about possible non-USA fannish artefacts that could potentially be housed in special collections.

So basically a stalking straw horse topic that really had nothing to do with OTW or Board issues - and in fact a topic that had no basis in any real life situations? What fans decide to donate (and where they decide to donate) is their business and should not be dictated to by the OTW. And I wouldn't 't be wasting the Board or OTW time 'debating' hypothetical topics.

I was discussing the potential interest non-USA fans (as a non-USA fan) could've on different projects, and, in my opinion, the reasons for that interest. It has nothing to do with actual OD policy -- I'm not in the Open Doors committee, in any case.
